Everyone was working with the same data, yet every report required separate preparation.
Then the real challenge appeared.
The more reports we created,
the more duplicated work we introduced.
Different calculations.

Different data preparation.

This approach wasn’t scalable.
So I asked myself one question.
Why am I solving the same problem ten times?
Instead of building another report,
I decided to build something different.
A reusable data platform.
One curated dataset.
One business logic.
One place where data preparation happens.
Every other report simply consumes it.
Why this mattered
Instead of maintaining multiple reporting solutions,
I only had to maintain one data preparation process.
Every business rule existed only once.
Every dashboard relied on the same trusted calculations.
Adding a new report became significantly easier because the hard work had already been done.
What I learned
A dashboard is rarely the difficult part.
The real value lies in building a reliable foundation that every report can trust.
